SOUTHINGTON, CT – For the third year in a row, COCC has earned a Cigna Well-Being Award. COCC was one of just two Connecticut companies to be recognized by Cigna as having an Honorable Culture of Well-Being, which rewards companies for the exceptional time, money and resources spent on employee well-being initiatives. This award highlights companies in various industries that change the workplace culture through leadership, organizational foundation, policy and environment, program implementation, and participation in employee health.
COCC stood out among competing companies thanks to its physical and mental health initiatives. Earlier this year, all employees were gifted with a wellness box filled with a variety of fun and healthy goodies. Employees were also provided with four hours of “mental health time” as a way to pause and focus on their own well-being during this unprecedented time. COCC has engaged employees with health apps such as Calm and Movespring to encourage its employees to stay active and connected with their co-workers and friends while working remotely. The company frequently provides employees with many options to focus on health and well-being, offering monthly educational sessions on wellness, nutrition, and meditation.
“Employee well-being has always been a focal point of our workplace strategy,” commented Richard A. Leone, Chief Executive Officer of COCC. “We know that if people live well, they work well, so we have focused renewed energy and innovation on creative ways to maintain the positive mental and physical health of our employees.”
COCC’s HR Total Rewards team as well as its Wellness Committee continue to serve all COCC teams, highlighting health initiatives and programs to focus on employee well-being. The company partners with Cigna, a leader in improving employee health that shares COCC’s own values of workplace wellness. As creating a healthy work environment is a rising focus for many employers, COCC is proud to be recognized by Cigna for its commitment to employee well-being.
