CEO of COCC Named Top Leader for a Second Time

Southington, Conn., September, 2019 – Richard A. Leone, CEO of COCC, was recognized as the Top Leader among large businesses as part of the 2019 Top Workplaces awards, presented by the Hartford Courant. Mr. Leone took home the Top Leader honor for the second time as COCC was named to the Top Workplaces list for the ninth consecutive year.

Mr. Leone was named Top Leader in 2015. Since then, the company has experienced rapid growth in both client base and workforce. He has served as the company’s CEO since 2002, setting the example for our service-oriented values both externally with our clients and prospects as well as internally to employees at all levels of the company.

The Top Workplaces awards are held annually with honors handed out based on the results of an anonymous employee survey that is facilitated by an independent third party. A total of 60 companies are honored in the Greater Hartford region in the areas of leadership, company direction, management, meaningfulness, employee appreciation, work/life balance and more.

“We strive to provide our employees with a company that they are proud to say they work for,” said Mr. Leone. “To be named the Top Leader, and to have that recognition based off employee feedback, is an honor and a testament to the team we have at COCC.”

More than 80 percent of COCC employees responded to the Top Workplaces survey this past spring. In addition to being named to the list for the ninth consecutive year, COCC was named the number three Top Workplace in Connecticut in the large business category. This marks the first year that COCC became eligible for this category, which includes companies with 500 employees or more.

COCC works to foster a workplace of appreciation, inclusion and engagement. Programs such as applause huddles, Peer2Peer and our Bravo! Board celebrate the work and achievements of our colleagues on a regular basis. Employee benefits encompassing physical, financial, and emotional well-being, including onsite gym facilities, one-on-one financial coaching, healthy food options, and parental leave promote a positive work/life balance for our workforce. Additionally, a robust schedule of employee training ensures an informed and knowledgeable staff that continues its education, on the job and in the classroom.

“We live our core values of sharing our passion, trusting in teamwork, securing our future, and delivering results,” added Mr. Leone. “Awards like this show that our values are aligned with our mission.”
